Before we look at the Practice Demo service that we offer, first lets look at what a Demo is and why it’s such an important step on your Journey to getting hired by a company. When a teacher sends out an application and a company responds with good news. They will either ask for an interview or a demo. During an interview the teacher is asked a series of random questions ranging from past companies they have taught for to future expectations and goals.

A demo however is a bit different. In the demo the teacher will have to physically teach the lesson to the interviewer or Hiring Manager. The teacher is given Course ware from their database of materials and asked to prepare for the demo. On the teacher’s Demo date they will go into a lesson with the interviewer either on ClassIn, Voov, Zoom or Skype and the teacher has to teach the materials for 30 minutes as if to a student.

The point of this is to check the teacher’s readiness and skills within a classroom. Now watching other teachers recorded demos and reading about it is one thing, actually teaching the lesson yourself is much different and more difficult. The Teacher’s Pet Practice Demo is here to help with this readiness and skills. We have Teacher Trainers who have conducted Demo Lessons themselves for companies to help with the hiring process. We know what the companies look for and what you need to prepare for.

Each Teacher Trainer focuses on a specific aspect of Online Teaching.

Teacher Carlin: She specializes in ClassIn training and PPT Lesson Planning.

Coach Matthew: With his extensive knowledge of IELTS, Business English and Accent Training. He can help you to teach any teen or adult student.

Teacher Trainer Chris: I have 5 years of online teaching experience and I’ll help you learn Zoom, Voov and Google Meet. We’ll start with the basics and move on to more advanced features depending on your skills. I’ll help prepare you to teach Young Learners. We’ll look at classroom atmosphere as well as Classroom and Time Management.

The Course ware that you use during your Practice Demo will be sent to you so you can practice.

Each Lesson is recorded for you to watch again and make sure you didn’t miss anything.

These lessons can be spread out over 2 or 3 days to give you time to practice and implement what you’ve learned. The final 30 minutes of your last lesson will be a Practice Demo of you teaching a trainer as if a student, in order to assess your performance and give feedback.
